Investigation of sol-gel transition in pluronic F127/[D.sub.2]O solutions using a combination of small-angle neutron scattering and Monte Carlo simulation
Article Abstract:
A small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) study and Monte Carlo simulations are carried out to analyze the physical gelation in the concentrated Pluronic F127/[D.sub.2]O solution. The SANS and empirical outcomes show that the formation of a percoated polymer network decides the sol-gel transition, while the loss of bound solvent determines the gel-sol transition and varying behaviors of various bound solvents and free solvent were found.

The influence of pressure on the lower critical solution temperature miscibility behavior of aqueous solutions of poly(vinyl methyl ether) and the relation to the compositional curvature of the volume of mixing
Article Abstract:
The influence of pressure on the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) miscibility gap is determined in mixtures of poly(vinyl methyl ether) [PVME] and water covering the whole composition range and pressures from atmospheric pressure up to 900 MPa. The molecular origins for the observed excess volume and miscibility behavior are briefly discussed from theoretical and molecular simulation points of view.
